Development of a light intensity control system for optimizing photoperiodism in melon plants based on iot with a fuzzy sugeno approach / Yutsabitul Aqdam
Abstrak
The agricultural sector plays a crucial role in Indonesia rsquo s economy which is known as an agrarian country. One of the leading horticultural commodities is melon which has high economic value and increasing market demand. However a major challenge in melon cultivation is the need for stable and adequate lighting especially during the rainy season or cloudy weather which can disrupt the photosynthesis process and reduce harvest quality. Photoperiodism which is the plant s response to the duration of light exposure greatly influences plant growth and flowering processes. Therefore an artificial lighting system is needed that can operate automatically and adjust to environmental conditions to ensure optimal illumination. This research aims to design an IoT-based automatic light intensity control system using the Fuzzy Sugeno logic method to optimize photoperiodism in melon plants. The system is equipped with a BH1750 sensor DHT21 I2C LCD and the Blynk application to monitor environmental conditions and uses the ESP32 as the main controller to regulate LED grow light illumination via an AC dimmer module. Data collected from the sensors is processed using a fuzzy algorithm to produce adaptive lighting decisions. Test results show that this system can improve lighting efficiency reduce sensor reading errors and increase plant productivity compared to conventional methods.
