Design and development of an automatic irrigation control system and soil nutrient monitoring based on iot with integrated environmental monitoring for melon cultivation / Muhammad Azharuddin
Abstrak
This study aims to design and develop an automatic irrigation nutrient control and monitoring system based on the Internet of Things (IoT) with environmental monitoring integration to support melon farming. The developed system uses an ESP32 microcontroller as a control center equipped with a soil moisture sensor NPK sensor and DHT22 temperature and air humidity sensor to collect environmental data in real time. The data obtained is transmitted to the Blynk platform to facilitate remote monitoring and control via mobile devices. The drip irrigation system (drip emitter) is activated automatically based on soil moisture conditions and is able to provide notifications if the soil nutrient levels or environmental temperature are outside the optimal threshold. The research process includes the hardware and software design stages system integration with the Blynk application and testing sensor accuracy and system effectiveness in various environmental conditions. Tests show that the system can improve water use efficiency compared to manual irrigation methods and support agricultural sustainability and productivity. Through the development of this system it is hoped that IoT-based irrigation technology can be a practical solution for farmers in facing the challenges of climate change limited water resources and increasing agricultural yields more efficiently and sustainably.
