Selection of informants using non-probability sampling technique with purposive sampling type. This qualitative research follows the data analysis model initiated by Miles and Huberman. These psychological impacts are low self-esteem and decreased self-confidence differences in how to interact with the opposite sex emotional instability trauma and excessive fear and selectivity in building social relationships. These impacts can affect their emotional and social well-being in the long run. However the victims demonstrated the ability to bounce back through cognitive coping strategies such as acceptance positive refocusing positive reappraisal and putting things into perspective. Supporting factors such as emotional support from family and friends proved to be very helpful in the victims recovery process.
