Abstrak
ABSTRACT Based on the results of observations in the field plastic waste management is still not optimally utilized to produce products of economic value such as keychains. These products can be produced using various types of machines one of which is plastic molding injection machines. In addition to making a positive contribution to environmental conservation efforts the use of this machine also has the potential to increase the income of UMKM partners. The vertical plastic injection molding machine is an innovation in manufacturing technology designed to improve the efficiency of plastic production. The working process of this machine involves the melting of thermoplastic material. In this study PET type thermoplastic material was used. There are several parameters that can affect the quality of production so that the products produced are suitable. Parameters that can affect the quality of product results include heating temperature and injection speed based on these parameters this study will analyze the effect of temperature variations and injection speed on PET materials. In this study the author used a quantitative method one of which is analysis through temperature and injection speed variations tests on chopped and recycled polyethylene terephthalate (PET) thermoplastic materials. Then the test was carried out using temperature variations of 265 deg C 275 deg C 285 deg C and injection velocities of 0.207m/s 0.282m/s and pressure of 4 bars on chopped PET while temperature variations of 265 deg C 275 deg C 285 deg C and injection velocities of 0.207m/s 0.282m/s 0.316 and pressure of 8 bars on recycled PET. It was found that the most perfect test in this study used a temperature of 285 deg C a speed of 0.282m/s with a weight of 16 grams on chopped PET and a temperature of 265 deg C a speed of 0.316m/s with a weight of 22 grams on recycled PET.
