Abstrak
Tourism is a crucial sector that significantly impacts global economic growth. In Indonesia it serves as a key pillar of national economic development particularly with the rising influx of international tourists including those from China to various destinations like Malang City. This trend creates new employment opportunities especially for graduates of the Mandarin Language Education Study Program. The objective of this study is to assess the career potential of these students within the tourism industry. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach data were collected through questionnaires distributed to students and professionals in the tourism sector. The findings indicate that a majority of students express a strong interest in pursuing careers in this field with a high demand for tour guides who can communicate in Mandarin. However a significant challenge is the lack of practical foreign language skills and other essential competencies. Therefore enhancing graduates skills through targeted language training and professional development is essential to better prepare them for competition in the service-oriented and culturally diverse tourism industry.
