The implementation of round table strategy with canva as the learning media to improve students’ announcement writing skills / Ivanna Angelica Revadi

Abstrak
Writing skill is one of the essential aspects of English that students need to master. However many junior high school students still face difficulties in writing English texts due to lack of vocabulary poor idea organization and low motivation. The interview with the teacher and some students revealed that the writing difficulties were due to three main problems unengaging learning activities limited learning media and insufficient time. This study involved eighth-grade students and used Classroom Action Research as the research design. The Round Table strategy was implemented in the learning process supported by Canva as the learning media. The research was carried out in one cycle consisting of four stages planning action observation and reflection. The findings showed that the use of Round Table strategy integrated with Canva improved students rsquo ability to write announcement texts. The average score increased from 69.94 in the pre-test to 87.25 in the post-test. The results were supported by post-test scores observation sheets field notes and questionnaires that indicated students became more active confident and motivated. The learning activities became more enjoyable and effective through discussion and visualization helping students to write announcements more clearly and creatively. In conclusion the integration of the Round Table strategy with Canva as the learning media provided a meaningful interactive and collaborative learning environment that successfully enhanced students writing skills in announcement texts.
