Analysis of students\' scientific inquiry abilities on chemical equilibrium materials / Rina Wahyuni
Abstrak
One important aspect in the scientific approach is the ability of scientific inquiry. However various studies show that many students still have difficulty in applying each stage of scientific inquiry. This study aims to analyze the scientific inquiry ability of grade XI students on chemical equilibrium material. The study was conducted using a quantitative descriptive evaluative method with subjects of grade XI high school students. The research instrument was developed by the researcher based on the scientific inquiry indicators of observation and problem formulation hypothesis formulation investigation implementation reasoning and linking results to theory and compiling and delivering conclusions. The results of the study showed that students scientific inquiry abilities were in the sufficient category with an average overall score of 48%. The best ability was shown in the indicator of conducting experiments (74%) and the lowest in the indicator of formulating hypotheses (31%). These findings indicate the need for strengthening in the early and late stages of the scientific process.
