Quality control analysis in towel production at pt paberik tekstil kasrie using statistical quality control (SQC) and failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA) methods / Siti Nayla Dwiamanda

Abstrak
PT Paberik Tekstil Kasrie is a company engaged in the textile industry namely towels. As a pioneer of the textile industry in Indonesia this company has demonstrated professionalism and continuous contribution to the textile industry in the country. This company focuses on meeting customer needs by providing a variety of high-quality textile products and having the best value on the market. Therefore improving product quality is very much needed and needs to be considered and maintained in accordance with existing standards in the company. However product defects are still often found in towel production especially in the Preparation and Weaving (PNW) Department. This study aims to identify and monitor the quality of production results through the Statistical Quality Control approach and determine the root causes of product quality problems by identifying and evaluating potential failures and the impacts generated through the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis approach. This study uses production data along with defective product data obtained through quality control inspection 1 at the PNW Department. The data period used is from January 2024 to December 2024 with a total production of 2104965 and a total of 61723 defective products. In addition observations and interviews were conducted to obtain the required data as the research progressed. Interviews were conducted directly with sources from the company namely Management Representative Quality Assurance amp Quality Control. Based on the results of the study using the Statistical Quality Control method three dominant types of defects were obtained from the five types of defects recorded by the company data. It can be interpreted that these three types of defects are the main problems in the high number of towel defects. In addition the production process that occurs is still not statistically controlled. There are other causes found in the machine material method and environment factors. The process capability analysis produces a Cp value of 11.53057 and a Cpk value of 9.70276. The Cp and Cpk values gt 1 which statistically indicate that the process has the ability to produce products within specification limits. There are 19 RPN values obtained from the identification results using FMEA. The failure mode with the highest RPN value of 210 and the lowest RPN value of 20 was obtained. From the many RPN values obtained the determination of problem priorities is determined based on the highest RPN value to take corrective action.
