Development of interactive ebook with green chemistry and socio scientific issues (ssi) context to improve understanding of acid-base concepts and green chemistry / Efita Novi Setyarini
Abstrak
This study aims to develop an interactive ebook with green chemistry and socio scientific issues (SSI) context and determine its effectiveness in improving students understanding of acid-base concepts and green chemistry knowledge. Acid-base is one of the important basic concepts in chemistry learning and is closely related to other concepts but students often experience difficulties on the topic of acid-base because not able to relate the concept of acid-base to daily life. One way to solve these problems is through the development of integrated teaching materials in the context of green chemistry and socio scientific issues (SSI). This research uses the R amp D (Research and Development) method with the ADDIE research model by Robert Maribe Branch (2009). The ADDIE model consists of five stages of the process namely the analysis design development implementation and evaluation. The instruments used in this study are needs analysis questionnaires material and media validation instruments green chemistry knowledge test validation instruments green chemistry concept understanding and knowledge test instruments and student response questionnaires. The CVI score of the material and media validation results and the percentage of student response questionnaire results were 1.00 1.00 and 83.93% respectively. Thus it can be concluded that interactive ebooks are suitable for use as a learning resource for students. The results of the trial at the implementation stage show that interactive ebooks in the context of green chemistry and socio scientific issues (SSI) are significantly effective in improving students understanding of acid-base concepts and green chemistry knowledge.
