The effect of using chat gpt on accounting students\' learning outcomes and learning independence / Thoriq Muhammad Aziz
Abstrak
This study aims to examine the effect of using Chat GPT on accounting students rsquo learning outcomes and learning independence. The background of this study is based on the low academic achievement and limited self-regulated learning observed among students at SMKN 2 Blitar as well as the potential of Chat GPT as an AI-based educational tool. This research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest nonequivalent group design. The sample consisted of 72 students divided into experimental and control groups. Learning outcomes were measured using an objective test while learning independence was measured using a validated and reliable questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the Independent Sample T-Test which revealed significant differences between the control and experimental groups. The results indicate that the use of Chat GPT has a positive and significant effect on improving both learning outcomes and self-regulated learning among accounting students. These findings support the relevance of constructivist theory particularly the processes of assimilation accommodation and equilibration in technology-enhanced learning.
