Correlation of arm muscle flexibility and strength with shooting accuracy in petanque / VIKA DWIYANTI
Abstrak
Shoulder flexibility and arm muscle strength are two aspects that affect shooting success in petanque. This study aims to analyse the relationship between shoulder flexibility and arm muscle strength to shooting accuracy in petanque sports. This study uses a quantitative approach method and correlational design. This study involved a sample of 28 respondents consisting of 9 athletes and 19 non-athletes. Shoulder flexibility was measured using a shoulder extension test arm muscle strength was measured using a push-up test and shooting accuracy was tested through a shooting game. Data analysis was performed using the Shapiro-Wilk normality test and Spearman correlation test using IBM SPSS Statistics 27. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between shoulder flexibility and shooting accuracy with a Spearman correlation value of 0.432 (p 0.022) as well as a significant relationship between arm muscle strength and shooting accuracy with a correlation value of 0.418 (p 0.027). These findings indicate that the better the shoulder flexibility and arm muscle strength the higher the level of shooting accuracy in petanque.
