M.Pd Keywords ldquo Magic Pocket rdquo Spinning Dice Media Early Childhood Education Language Reading Ability Learning media are tools used to assist anyone in conveying messages or information to others. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Magic Pocket spinning dice media on the reading ability of children aged 4 ndash 5 years at TK Ulil Albab Sawojajar Malang. This study uses a quantitative experimental method with a quasi-experimental design specifically the nonequivalent control group design. The population and sample in this study consisted of two kindergarten A classes with a total of 30 students. Fourteen students were in the control class which did not use the learning media while sixteen students were in the experimental class which used the Magic Pocket spinning dice learning media. Data collection in this study employedobservation with data analysis conducted a t-test to determine the effectiveness of the Magic Pocket spinning dice media on the learning outcomes of 4 ndash 5-year-old students. The results of this study showed a t-value of -1.101 and a significance value of 0.28 which indicates 0.28 ge 0.05. Therefore H1 is rejected and H0 is accepted meaning that there is no significant difference or the use of the media is not effective between the learning outcomes in the control class and the experimental class. The Magic Pocket spinning dice media is not effective for improving the reading ability of children aged 4 ndash 5 years at TK Ulil Albab Sawojajar Malang.
