Storyline online\'s effectiveness in enhancing listening skills among primary learners / Flora Anindy Ramadhanti
Abstrak
Storyline Online is a multimedia platform that applies digital storytelling techniques by combining narration visuals and sound to present stories in an engaging and educational way. Storyline Online is a multimedia worth considering as an effective aid for teaching listening skills. This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of Storyline Online as a multimedia to enhance listening comprehension in young learners. This study used pre-experimental design with one-group pretest-posttest design which is considered suitable for preliminary or exploratory research when access to a control group is limited. The research conducted at SDN Nongkojajar I with a sample of 25 sixth-grade students. The treatment involved the use of Storyline Online videos and data were collected using listening comprehension tests administered before and after the treatments. The results were analyzed using paired sample t-tests to measure the significance of improvement. Findings revealed a statistically significant increase in students listening comprehension scores with mean scores rising from 61.60 (pre-test) to 88.48 (post-test) and a p-value of 0.000 lt 0.05 indicating a strong positive impact of the Storyline Online videos as a multimedia. These findings highlight the potential of incorporating digital storytelling into English instruction to improve listening skills and point to the need for further research involving control groups and diverse learner contexts.
