Abstrak
This research Energy efficiency is one of the important aspects in the planning and design of buildings. At the planning and construction stage of the Engineering Building I building there has been no attempt to analyze energy efficiency one of which can use the BIM method. This research aims to analyze building energy efficiency simulation through fa ccedil ade design retrofit based on Energy Use Intensity (EUI) analysis using Building Information Modeling (BIM) in Engineering Building I at UIN III Malang. The research uses a descriptive quantitative approach with energy efficiency simulation analysis method in this research using Autodesk Revit and Autodesk Insight software to assist in the evaluation of energy consumption reduction. Facade design in buildings has a role in the amount of energy use in buildings so this study experiments with modifications to architectural elements such as glass construction materials and window to wall ratio (WWR) that can optimize energy use in buildings. The simulation results show that the existing condition of the building has a high EUI of 346.68 kWh/m sup2 /year mainly due to the less than optimal building orientation and direct sunlight exposure on the east and west facades. This study identified the most effective design modification to reduce EUI with a recommendation to use 30% WWR and triple low-E glass on the facades. This design combination successfully reduced energy consumption reducing the EUI to 341.17 kWh/m sup2 /year thus offering a more energy efficient alternative. This research also emphasizes the importance of using BIM for energy performance analysis and provides recommendations for improving building energy efficiency at the planning and design stages of the building.
