Abstrak
This study aims to investigate the effects of the SQ3R (Survey Question Read Recite Review) strategy integrated with digital technology on students rsquo multimodal text comprehension as well as students rsquo responses to the strategy. It employed mixed methods with a quasi-experimental design. The participants in this study consisted of 46 students from grade XI from English Literature classes at SMA Negeri Pamekasan. Pre-test and post-test were conducted to compare the effectiveness and progress between the experimental and control classes. In addition data on students rsquo and teacher rsquo s reflections were gathered to examine students rsquo responses to the strategy. The test scores were analysed using SPSS while the reflections were analysed qualitatively using a thematic analysis. Findings revealed that although there was no statistically significant difference between the experimental and control groups rsquo post-test scores (p .438) both classes showed positive progress in comprehending multimodal text. This study highlights the potential of the SQ3R strategy in supporting multimodal literacy while also capturing students rsquo perceptions on the effectiveness of SQ3R and the challenges involved.
