Characteristics of ac-wc Mixture With Ceramic Waste as Modified Filler and Latex as Additive in View of Marshall Parameters / Maulina Nur Laili
Abstrak
The main problem with road infrastructure in Indonesia is the high level of road deterioration that requires high maintenance costs. Flexural pavement types are widely used due to their low initial cost and good comfort. Despite adequate stability these pavements are still susceptible to damage that can disrupt stability due to repeated loads and weather. To overcome this problem it is necessary to improve the quality of pavement materials such as using ceramic waste as a filler substitute and latex as an additive so that it can improve the stability of the mixture extend the service life and reduce maintenance costs. The objectives of this research include (1) describe the characteristics of AC-WC mixtures (2) analyze the characteristics of AC-WC mixtures with ceramic waste as a substitute for filler and latex as an added ingredient when viewed from Marshall parameters (3) analyze the performance of AC-WC mixtures with ceramic waste as a substitute for filler and latex as an added ingredient when viewed from IKS values. The design of the research includes several stages including the preparation of the constituent materials of the mixture material testing the stage of making test specimens with variations in the levels of asphalt in the mixture of 5% 5.5% 6% 6.5% and 7% of the total weight of the mixture using cement filler to obtain the KAO value then making test specimens with various levels of ceramic waste filler to cement filler namely 0 100 25 75 50 50 75 25 and 100 0 making test specimens of variations in latex content to the optimum asphalt weight of 0% 2% 4% and 6% the Marshall testing stage the IKS testing stage and the last stage in the form of analysis and the last stage in the form of conclusions.. The results obtained from this study include (1) the characteristics of the constituent materials of the mixture have met the 2018 Bina Marga General Specifications (2) the performance of AC-WC mixtures with ceramic waste as a filler modification and latex as an added ingredient as latex content increases namely stability rises to a certain point and then decreases flow value increases VFA value increases while VIM VMA and MQ values decrease. In this test the KAO value was obtained at 6% the KFO value was 17.9% ceramic waste and 82.1% cement and the KLO value was 2.75% (3) the performance of the mixture on the IKS value the mixture experienced a decrease in stability at 30 minutes immersion to 24 hours with the lowest IKS value found at 0% latex content with a durability value of 92.68% and the highest durability value found at 6% latex content which is 98.64%.
