SUMMARY Ramadhan Arya Rizki Akhmad. 2024. Effectiveness of the Peer Teaching Learning Model in MasterCAM Cognitive Mastery and Practice in the Class XI TP-CNC Subject in Machining Engineering at SMK Negeri 2 Pasuruan. Mechanical Construction Design Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program Departement of Mechanical Engineering Faculty of Engineering State University of Malang. Adviser Dr. Widiyanti M.Pd. Keyy Word peer teaching MasterCAM CNC learning efectiviness SMK Negeri 2 Pasuruan offers a Machining Engineering skills program where students take part in practicums such as lathe milling welding and CNC. However students are often less active in learning because they are shy or afraid to ask questions as well as the teacher s monotonous teaching approach. To increase student activity and the quality of learning the application of the peer tutoring model is proposed as a solution. It is hoped that this method can help teachers prepare more effective learning strategies thereby improving the quality of education at SMK Negeri 2 Pasuruan especially in the machining skills program. This research uses an experimental approach with a Quasi Experimental design. Researchers conducted pre-tests and post-tests on the control and experimental groups to measure cognitive achievements and only post-tests for practical achievements. The research population was all students of class XI Mechanical Engineering at SMK Negeri 2 Pasuruan for the 2023/2024 academic year with samples taken randomly from two classes XI TPM. The independent variable in this research is the Peer Tutor Learning Model while the dependent variables are Cognitive Mastery and MasterCAM Practice. The peer tutoring learning method has proven to be very effective in increasing students cognitive mastery and practice of MasterCAM material compared to the lecture method. The t-test results show that students who study using the peer tutoring method have higher average scores confirming the superiority of this method. Student responses to the peer tutoring method are also very positive with increased activity self-confidence understanding of the material and motivation to learn. Overall this method creates a dynamic learning environment and supports student academic success.
