Development of virtual learning space fagevr: fault geography virtual reality on tectonism material to enhance spatial thinking ability for grade 10 / Allen Digdo Rayhandoko
Abstrak
The development of virtual learning space Fault Geography Virtual Reality (FAGEVR) on the topic of tectonism based on ADDIE model with the purpose to produce learning media FAGEVR assessing the effectiveness of FAGEVR media for improving student rsquo s spatial thinking ability identify students and teacher responses for the use of FAGEVR media. The media development process was carried out through several stages analysis design development implementation and evaluation involving subject matter and media expert validators. Results of experts validation showed that FAGEVR media had a very valid level of feasibility with a percentage of ge 92%. After testing with students the research results revealed that the use of FAGEVR media was fairly effective to improving student rsquo s spatial thinking ability as seen from the increase in the average pretest score from 31.2 to 75.3 on the posttest and N-Gain score of 0.63 in the moderate category with a percentage of 63% meanwhile students and teacher responses were very positive with practicality scores of ge 88%. However the implementation of FAGEVR was still face the challenges including many terms that are not yet understood by students an unstructured sequence of material and it takes a relatively long time to understand the entire material as well as infrastructure challenges such as limited devices and internet access. Overall FAGEVR is recommended as an effective and relevant innovation in geography education to enhance student rsquo s understanding of abstract concepts and spatial abilities through immersive and contextual learning experiences.
