The role of cooperatives in empowering the people’s economy in the agricultural sector (case study: koperasi pertanian langgeng mulyo) / Shania Ayu Fitria

Abstrak
Cooperatives play an important role in empowering the people s economy especially in the agricultural sector by providing access to capital technology and marketing networks for their members. This study analyzes the role of the Langgeng Mulyo Agricultural Cooperative which not only functions as a savings and loan institution but also provides agricultural shops and supermarkets to meet the production and consumption needs of its members. Using a qualitative approach with a case study method this study explores the impact of the cooperative business model on member welfare and economic sustainability strategies. The results of the study indicate that cooperatives are able to increase their members access to agricultural resources strengthen economic resilience and encourage active participation in business management. However there are challenges such as limited access to financing and low managerial literacy of members. Therefore this study provides strategic recommendations to improve the sustainability of cooperatives and can be a reference in the development of agricultural cooperatives in Indonesia and support cooperative-based economic empowerment policies to improve community welfare.
