Abstrak
The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of the discovery learning model on learning outcomes and self-regulation of fourth grade elementary school students partially and simultaneously. The research method used in this study is a quantitative method with quasi experimental type and a nonequivalent control group design model. The population in this study is all of fourth grade students in one of the elementary schools in Blitar Regency this study consists of 46 fourth grade students who are grouped into two groups namely the experimental group consisting of 24 students and the control group consisting of 22 students. The sampling technique used in this study is the simple random sampling technique. Data collection was carried out using test instruments and questionnaires that have been tested for validity and reliability. Meanwhile data analysis was carried out using descriptive statistical tests equivalence tests equivalence tests and hypothesis testing. The equivalence test was carried out with the Independent Sample T-Test while the hypothesis testing was carried out with the Mann-Whitney U and MANOVA assisted by Scatterplot visualization with regression lines and determination coefficient values (R sup2 ) through SPSS 25. The results of the study show that the discovery learning model is very effective on learning outcomes and self-regulation of fourth grade elementary school students partially or simultaneously. This is shown by the significance value of the Mann-Whitney U test which showed that the learning outcomes (p 0.001) and self-regulation (p 0.011) of students in the discovery learning model group were better than the jigsaw-type cooperative learning model group. In addition the results of the MANOVA test (p 0.001) also support that the discovery learning model group is better than the jigsaw-type cooperative learning model group. Therefore it can be concluded that the discovery learning model is effective on learning outcomes and self-regulation of fourth grade elementary school students both partially and simultaneously.
