Abstrak
A relationship without status or situationship is a romantic relationship phenomenon that is not bound by formal commitment but still involves emotional and physical closeness. This study aims to determine the effect of Self-Monitoring on Future Time Orientation in individuals who are in situationship. The research method used is quantitative with a total of 274 respondents aged 18 ndash 30 years who are currently or have undergone situationship in the past year. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. The instruments used were Snyder s Self-Monitoring scale and Oner s Future Time Orientation On Romantic Relationship (FTORR) scale. The majority of study respondents fell into the moderate category indicating a balance between self-monitoring and FTO. Data were analyzed using simple linear regression. The results showed that Self-Monitoring has a significant negative effect on FTO with a T-test calculated value of -2.571 an F-test calculated value of 6.671 a significance value of 0.011 (p lt 0.05) with a contribution of 2.4%. The results showed that if the hypothesis is accepted self-monitoring negatively influences FTO. This finding suggests that individuals with low self-monitoring tend to have higher FTO even in relationships with unclear status.
