Development of a Pencak Silat learning model based on game modification to improve tehe gross motor abilities of phase C elementary school children in Malang City/ Yukta Terate Syura
Abstrak
Keywords pencak silat educational games children rsquo s gross motor skills elementary school learning modelThis study aims to develop a game-based pencak silat learning model that is effective safe and engaging to improve the gross motor skills of elementary school students. This study uses a descriptive model that adapts the Borg amp Gall (1983) model. The research followed seven main stages ranging from needs assessment to the final product in the form of a teacher s guidebook. The product was evaluated by three experts an elementary education expert a game expert and a media expert. A small group trial was conducted at SDN Bunulrejo 1 in Malang while the large group trials took place at SDN Arjowinangun 2 SD Bahrul Maghfiroh and SDN Bunulrejo 1 involving phase C students. Data were collected through observation interviews and questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics based on the Likert scale.The developed model consists of an interactive learning module containing eleven games modified from basic pencak silat movements. These games include Silat Arah Ajaib Squid Game Pencak Silat Elak Tangkap Ikuti Gerakanku Elak Estafet Silat Ninja Engklek Ceria Silat Lompat Tali Penjaga Gerbang Rahasia Kode Rahasia Silat and Tembak Menara. Expert validation showed an eligibility level above 83% across all assessed aspects while student responses in both trials reached over 97%. The model proved effective in enhancing gross motor skills such as balance coordination agility and physical strength while also fostering positive character values like discipline teamwork sportsmanship and courage. The final product comprising a learning module and teacher guidebook is deemed suitable for implementation in physical education classes and offers an innovative approach to integrating physical education with the preservation of Indonesian cultural heritage
