Abstrak
Learning motivation in social studies is still low due to the abstract nature of the concepts. This study investigated the effect of VITUR SAJA (Samudro Jawar Temple Virtual Tour) as a learning medium on students learning motivation in social studies at SMPN 18 Malang. This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental non-equivalent control group design. The research sample consisted of two classes an experimental class using VITUR SAJA and a control class using PowerPoint (PPT). Data collection involved a learning motivation questionnaire and observation of students motivation using ARCS (Attention Relevance Confidence and Satisfaction) indicators. Statistical analysis through SPSS 30.0 including normality homogeneity and independent sample t-test revealed that VITUR SAJA significantly increased students learning motivation (Sig. lt 0.001) lower than 0.05. Consequently the null hypothesis was rejected confirming the existence of differences in learning motivation between the experimental and control groups. ARCS observations showed that VITUR SAJA increased attention and relevance strengthened interaction and created a more active and enjoyable learning environment. This is because there is a feature of the learning media namely virtual reality in the temple. It is recommended for media developers and educators to adapt the VITUR SAJA model to other social studies topics.
