Generation x in the society 5.0 era: the role of social support on resilience moderated by subjective well-being / Esa Arsyiatul Alfath
Abstrak
The Society 5.0 era is a concept of a technology-based society centered on humans and emphasizing a balance between technological advancement and social needs. Generation X in their productive years faces significant challenges adapting to complex digital transformations which can affect their productivity and resilience. Resilience an individual rsquo s ability to adapt and recover from stress is influenced by factors such as social support which can help individuals cope with challenges more effectively. Additionally subjective well-being plays a crucial role in strengthening the relationship between social support and resilience as individuals with higher well-being tend to be more adaptive and resilient to stress. Although these three variables have been extensively studied separately research integrating the roles of social support resilience and subjective well-being among Generation X in the context of the Society 5.0 era remains limited and warrants further exploration. The research method employed is quantitative utilizing Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling. The sample in this study consists of 277 Generation X individuals born between 1965 and 1976 in Indonesia. The research findings indicate that social support plays a significant role in the resilience of Generation X in the Society 5.0 era accounting for 86 4% (R sup2 0.864) of the increase in resilience. This finding is further strengthened by the moderating role of subjective well-being which increases the contribution to 91.1% (R sup2 0.911). This means that Generation X individuals who feel socially supported are better able to adapt and face life rsquo s challenges with strong psychological resilience especially when they have subjective well-being.
