The development of the career monopoly simulation game technique in group guidance to develop high school students\' understanding of higher study / Yuni Setyo Utami
Abstrak
The problem often faced by high school students is the difficulty in determining and finding higher studies due to lack of insight knowledge and sufficient information. There needs to be thorough preparation in choosing higherr studies because the process of making decisions about higher studies during high school is a crucial period in a student s life. A preliminary study conducted on class X students of SMAN 1 Kepanjen in the 2024-2025 academic year found that 49% of students had a moderate level of understanding of higher studies indicating that they needed intervention in developing an understanding of higher studies. Interviews with counselor stated that students often feel bored if the information is provided using expository technique. Students want the service to be more enjoyable so that it attracts students attention. Literature studies show that in developing an understanding of higher studies students can use the career monopoly simulation game technique in a group guidance setting. Therefore this study aims to produce a career monopoly simulation game technique in group guidance to develop an understanding of higher studies for high school students that is acceptable according to expert and prospective user assessments and to test the effectiveness of the career monopoly simulation game technique in group guidance to develop an understanding of higher studies for high school students. This study uses the ADDIE research and development design (Analysis Design Development Implementation Evaluation). The research subjects consisted of two material experts media experts and potential users. The effectiveness test of the use of career monopoly simulation game technique in group guidance to develop understanding of higher studies for high school students was conducted on 8 students of SMAN 1 Kepanjen class X. The validation data of experts and prospective users were analyzed using the formula interrater agreement model while the evaluation of the effectiveness of the career monopoly simulation game technique in group guidance to develop students understanding of higher studies used analysis Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. This research resulted in (1) the guidelines for implementating the career monopoly simulation game technique in group guidance to develop understanding of higher studies for high school students consisting of 3 parts introduction usage instructions and service devices and (2) the career monopoly media as a medium for implementing the simulation game technique consisting of career monopoly 1 containing information about self-understanding career monopoly 2 containing information about higher studies and career monopoly 3 containing information about planning higher studies. The results of the product validation of both the implementation guidelines and the career monopoly media showed a perfect or very high level of agreement with an index of 1. Therefore the career monopoly simulation game technique is considered very appropriate very useful very interesting and very easy to use in group guidance services to develop understanding of higher studies for high school students. The results of the trial on class X students of SMAN 1 Kepanjen showed an asymptotic (2-tailed) as big as 0.012 where lt 0.05 so it can be concluded that there is a statistical increase in scores from before and after the intervention. This indicates that the use of the technique of career monopoly simulation game in group guidance significantly influences the understanding of higher studies of high school students.
