Implementation of a learning management system in history learning at Senior High School 1 Lumajang / Adelea Wardah Kartika

Abstrak
This study aims to describe the implementation of the Learning Management System (LMS) in History learning at SMAN 1 Lumajang. The focus of the study covers three main aspects preparation for LMS implementation application of LMS in History learning and the results and impact on the quality of learning. The approach used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques in the form of in-depth interviews direct observation and field notes. Informants include the principal history teacher and five students who were selected purposively. Analysis was conducted thematically through reduction presentation and drawing conclusions and validated using triangulation techniques and sources supplemented by confirmation through member checking. During the preparation phase for LMS implementation the principal demonstrated an understanding of the urgency of digitizing learning and designated Microsoft Teams as the primary LMS. This selection was based on its interactive features ease of access and compatibility with students devices. The school also conducted teacher training student outreach and provided infrastructure support despite ongoing network challenges at home. LMS implementation includes the integration of digital materials the use of features such as online assignments attendance and discussion forums and the active role of teachers as digital facilitators. Teachers also adapt strategies to overcome technical barriers and maintain two-way interaction even when student participation is not always equal. The results and impact of LMS implementation are evident in improved student understanding of the material increased motivation to learn and the ability to manage assignments independently. The LMS is considered to facilitate flexible access and strengthen independent learning. The school responded to existing challenges with regular evaluation and continued development. These findings indicate that LMS implementation has been systematic and has had a positive impact on history learning.
