Pamanfaatan internet sebagai sarana pembelajaran di SMK Kota Malang / oleh Poeryanto

Abstrak
The study was aimed to reveal internet usage as learning tool at vocational school in Malang. There are five aspects that can be revealed related to the internet usage in learning namely (1) internet usage (2) supporting factors in internet usage (3) learning system of internet usage (4) the advantages of internet usage in learning (5) the restrictions of internet usage as a learning tool. The study used quantitative descriptive approach. The study was done in Malang city with population of all Vocational Schools that uses internet as learning tool. The studied objects are 10 Vocational schools with samples of 144 students were taken randomly. Data gathering of the study was fully done with questionnaire. The study succeeded to reveal that (1) less of students (45.21%) of students sometimes use internet as learning tool at vocational schools of Malang (2) most of schools community teachers and students (63.57%) often give supports to the internet usage as learning tool at vocational schools in Malang city (3) learning system with internet usage (a) it was less (9.70 %) schools that used fully the internet (Web Course) (b) most of the schools (51.40%) used some of face to face learning some of them used internet (Web Centric Course) and (c) less of them (38.90%) of schools used internet as additional tool (Web enhanced Course) (4) the advantages of internet usage as learning tool at vocational schools are (a) the teachers will be easy to control students learning activities (b) the students will be assisted in doing their assignments (c) it can improve students learning motives and also (d) the learning will be more effective and (5) there was no restriction in utilizing internet as learning tool at vocational schools in Malang city the analyse results were showed by (a) the students not to be restricted in acquiring English (b) the students not to be restricted to find internet laboratory (c) the students not to be restricted in interactions with the teachers and (d) the students found adequate infrastructures. Starting from these findings some suggests to improve the internet usage as learning tool at vocational schools in Malang city are (1) the principals should give supports motivation and internet facilities to the teachers and the students (2) the teachers should develop learning systems that collaborated with internet usage that s way the learning process will be comfortable and more effective and (3) the students should be more active and can utilize internet laboratory optimally in order to improve their knowledge to reach the educational goals.
