Pemberdayaan pemuda melalui latihan keterampilan menjahit (studi kasus keberhasilan alumni pendidikan life skill pada SKB Lombok Barat 2004) / Wayan Tamba

Abstrak
Teenagers as a part of the society are needed to avoid the other teenagers who are unemployed because they do not have any skills to work. Being a broad minded person and having a skill someone will not be dependent to other people especially the family. If they are not helped to develop their potency by giving them the kills which can assist them to work perhaps in the future they will be focused to the negative things for instance doing the criminal action. Every one has the potency which can be developed and focused to the positive things and one of those is doing the sewing training. As one of the ex-school organizations that have responsibility towards the service of society education which includes knowledge and skills SKB can be applied in daily life. Although there are much training of knowledge and skills the asset to work like sewing machines and the companion for five months there are still found some of them successful to develop their skills and their asset whereas the other are not. Based on those facts this research has the aims to (1) obtain the description about the strategy which is used by the graduates of the training in advancing the skills and assets to work (2) describe many factors that support those graduates in developing their skills and assets to work (3) describe many factors which obstruct those who cannot develop their skills and assets to work. Descriptive approach is used to explain that problem. The data is collected from the graduates and some informants who become the subjects of this research. Collecting the data uses the method of interview observation and documentation. Then the data analysis is used by the interpretation continuously toward the several events which are related to this research so it will grasp many things relating to the focus of this research. The results of this research are (1) the sewing skill training is done well because the teaching process uses the education methods of adult (2) the strategy of skill development which is done by the graduates are being an apprentice is learning while working with the experienced tailors. Independent study is learning new pattern of clothes by looking at the magazines or the others sources and also noticing new modes of clothes which are worn by people surrounding. Joining the extra sewing skill is following the training to add knowledge and sewing skill for three days which is held by SKD West Lombok. (3) The internal condition which holds up the success of the graduates in developing their skills includes Motivation and behavior family s support assets to work and the accomplice of SKB. (4) The factors which avoid the graduates to develop their skills and the assets to work are caused by the internal condition there is no motivation to develop their sewing skill independently neither the basic step nor the advanced one. The external conditions are there is no family s support there is no good accomplice and there is the peer pressure which potentially determines someone s job.
