Abstrak
USING A NARRATIVE SCAFFOLD TO IMPROVE STUDENTS EFL WRITING ABILITY IN SMA NEGERI 1 GAMBIRAN-BANYUWANGI Nada Yangrifqi Abstract The study was intended to improve the ability of students writings by using a narrative scaffold. A collaborative action research was employed. The study was conducted in Class XI IPS 1 consisting thirty seven (37) students in SMAN 1 Gambiran-Banyuwangi. The researcher acted as the English teacher in the class while the collaborating teacher acted as the observer. The findings showed that within a single cycle the students attention to the teacher s explanation and instruction was always in the high level while the students participation during the teaching and learning activity increased. Moreover the students writing ability also improved which was indicated by the improvement of the students writing scores in terms of organization and content.
