Abstrak
ABSTRAK Yuliantoro Deden Ferry 2008. Penyusunan Modul Belajar Himpunan Untuk SMP/MTs Kelas VII dengan Berpedoman pada Standar Problem Solving dan Komunikasi. Himpunan merupakan salah satu materi yang dipelajari dalam jenjang pendidikan SMP/MTs di negeri ini. Dalam aktifitas siswa mempelajari serta mengeksplorasi materi himpunan tersebut terdapat banyak sarana yang dapat digunakan sebagai media untuk meningkatkan kualitas pemahamannya. Diantara media yang dapat digunakan siswa ialah dengan menggunakan modul belajar. Penyusunan modul belajar dikembangkan berlandaskan pada prinsip kemandirian siswa. Artinya siswa dituntut untuk dapat belajar secara mandiri dan bertanggung jawab. Selain itu siswa dituntut pula untuk dapat mengevaluasi serta merefleksi kemampuannya dalam mempelajari modul tersebut. Penyusunan suatu modul belajar sangat terkait erat dengan tujuan penyusunan serta kompetensi yang hendak dicapai dalam diri siswa. Hal ini berimplikasi pada mekanisme belajar yang direkomendasikan serta metode penggunanaan modul tersebut. Dalam skripsi ini disusun suatu modul belajar dengan materi himpunan yang diperuntukkan bagi siswa-siswi SMP/MTs kelas VII. Spesifikasi penggunaan modul ini lebih difokuskan pada sarana pengayaan bagi siswa untuk menambah wawasannya seputar permasalahan yang berhubungan dengan materi himpunan. Oleh karena itu sistematika yang dirumuskan dalam modul ini disusun secara ringkas dengan memuat komponen ringkasan poin materi contoh permasalahan soal latihan dan petunjuk menjawab soal. Pedoman yang dijadikan sebagai acuan dalam menyusun permasalahan atau soal-soal dalam modul merujuk pada rumusan ranah kognitif Bloom yang meliputi penerapan analisis dan sintesis. Selanjutnya ketiga aspek tersebut diterjemahkan ke dalam bentuk permasalahan yang bersifat problem solving dengan menekankan pada kemampuan menjawab secara komunikatif. Uji coba modul dilakukan kepada sebanyak 30 siswa untuk mengetahui aspek kekomunikatifan jawaban siswa atas permasalahan yang diberikan. Penekanannya terletak pada penggunaan bahasa matematika yang terdiri dari simbol untuk ide/definisi simbol relasi simbol operasi dan simbol tanda baca. Berdasarkan uji coba tersebut diketahui bahwa kesalahan yang kerap dilakukan oleh siswa ialah dalam hal simbol ide ataupun definisi. ABSTRACT Yuliantoro Deden Ferry 2008. Key words Set Problem Solving Communication. Set is one of the subjects which be learned by the students in junior high school level in Indonesia. There are a lot of things which can be used by the students in order to learn explore and also improve their knowledge about the set. One of the media is module. The composing of the module is developed based on students self-government principle. It means that the students have to study and be responsible by themselves. Moreover the students also have to be able to evaluate and reflect their ability in understanding the module. The composing of the module has a strong relationship with the purpose of the composition and also the competency that will be achieve toward the students. Therefore it has the implication on the mechanism of the study that has been recommended and also the methods that will be used. In this study the writer tries to compose a set material module which is designed to the students of grade VII of junior high school. The specification of the use of the module is more focused on the medium of students enrichment in order to improve their knowledge about any things related to the set. Therefore the arrangement of the module composition is in simple way that contains these materials the problems set the exercises and the guidance to solve the problems. The method that is used in composing the problems is based on Bloom s Cognitive which consists of the application the analysis and the synthesis of the problems. Then those three aspects are transferred to any kind of problems which have the characteristic of problem solving so that the students can apply it to solve the problems communicatively. The try out of this module has been done toward 30 students of junior high to investigate the students answer based on the communicative aspect. Then it is focused on the use of this kind of methods toward mathematics ways which consist of symbol of idea/definition symbol of relation and symbol of operation and punctuation. It is known that based on the result of the try out the students often make a lot of mistakes in symbol of idea or definition.
