Almost everyone agrees that humors are produced and intended to be humorous. The production and comprehension of humors can reflect how creative human minds can be. And yet not all kinds of humors fascinate people especially those containing sensitive matters like gender. For this contradictory existence of humor it is important that people not put aside the nature of gender humors. Hence this study intends to dissect the linguistic specific features in humor this study also intends to analyze the overall gender stereotypes scattered inside the selected gender humors. Gender humor is a simple yet challenging topic to study. It is easy to approach especially through internet. However although gender humors are excessively spread on the Internet this study only involves meticulously selected gender humors. These gender humors tell a lot not only about the features of humors but also about the simplified images of gender inside the society. The analysis stands on the frameworks of humor studies involving GTVH (General Theory of Verbal Humor) proposed by Attardo (1991) which deals a lot with linguistic field and also Hobbes superiority theory (1957) which deals with social aspect. Moreover in identifying the stereotypical images of men and women throughout gender humors the analysis is also influenced much by the gender studies. The findings and discussions show how creative human minds are when producing and comprehending linguistic incongruities in gender humors such as twisting prepositions twisting homonymy twisting idiomatic expressions twisting figurative language absurd neologism and interpretation false analogy fallacious reasoning and word repetitions. They show that inside the heart of gender humors are the elements of incongruities however few. Yet unfortunately these incongruities are accompanied by not-really-fascinating matters i.e. the stereotypical images of the inferior. In the discussions decades ago literature suggested that the common standard of humors mostly poked fun at women s deficiencies however owing to the women s movement the findings show that now men are also targeted for their stereotypical images. Furthermore the analysis shows that there are some gender stereotypical images prevailing to the traditional roles of man and woman. For instance women are ridiculed as the homemakers and women are targeted for being dependent on her men in term of economic power. And yet there are also those that ratify non-traditional representations as male is targeted more for being stupid. Moreover male and female are both poked fun for being insignificant. These findings support that stereotypical images inside the humors have been changing just like the culture.
