Abstrak

Based on the existing problems can be expressed formulation of the problem is whether the use of the media on the number line can enhance the understanding of the concept of sequence of numbers in in first grade Elementary School District Waung I Nganjuk Baron What is the use of number line media can increase the activity of students in learning the concept of sequence numbers . The correct usage of instructional media will be able to reduce the number of words needed in the instructional process to communicate ideas that are concrete. Learning media not only provides concrete experiences but also help students to integrate previous experiences (Soekamto 1993). Thus the media are expected to be able to expedite the process of student learning and understanding and retention. In addition the media can attract attention and generate interest and enhance student motivation. Thus media usage will greatly affect the effectiveness of a given instructional system. To discuss the above issues a research class action in first grade Elementary School District Waung I Nganjuk Baron. Subjects were first graders in the second semester of the academic year 2009/2010 with students as much as 26 students consisting of 16 students and male and 10 female students. The experiment was conducted in two cycles with the assumption that if the cycle I have not achieved mastery will be held on the second cycle improvement. Data collected through observation and testing the final evaluation cycle. Indicators of success of this research is that if a student has finished studying if they have reached a score of 65% or 65 values and the class is called when the class is finished studying there who have achieved 85% more absorbent than equal to 65% a student has finished studying. Based on the discussion results of research that has been done it can be concluded that the use of number line media can enhance the understanding of the concept of sequence of numbers in the first class of students in first grade Elementary School District Waung I Nganjuk Baron.The applicability of the number line media can also increase the activity of students in learning the concept of sequence numbers. It is recommended that instructional media such as gari numbers containing the number line can enhance the understanding of children to an integer addition operation the need for special guidance for students who have difficulty doing the evaluation. Instructional media game that contains the number line should be pulled and given guidance to use.
