The discrepancies between teacher\'s beliefs and the implementation of KTSP in the teaching of English at two private Junior High Schools in Lawang / Fitri Auliya Rahmi
Abstrak
Keyword Discrepancies beliefs implementation English Private Junior High Schools. Kurikulum Tingkat Satuan Pendidikan is the operational curriculum which is made by every level of education. This curriculum has been used in Indonesia since 2006. Although this curriculum has been used in Indonesia since 2006 not all of the schools were able to implement this curriculum. It was proved by the way the teacher developed their syllabus and lesson plan which were different from their beliefs in implementing this curriculum. This study attempted to give a description of the discrepancies between teachers beliefs and the implementation of KTSP in the teaching of English at two private junior high schools in Lawang This study was conducted in two private junior high schools in Lawang SMP PGRI 02 Lawang and SMP MAARIF 01 Lawang. Each English teacher from two schools was taken as the subject of the study. The design of this study was descriptive qualitative study because the data used in this study were in the two forms oral and written. The data was compiled by conducting the interviews and asking for the documents consisted of syllabus lesson plan and teaching material. The document which was asked for was the documents made and used by the English teachers from SMP PGRI 02 Lawang and SMP Maarif 01 Lawang. The result of the study showed the beliefs of English teachers from SMP PGRI 02 Lawang and SMP Maarif 01 Lawang about the implementation of KTSP was in line with BSNP while the implementation of KTSP was different from their beliefs. Some suggestions were addressed to the teachers principals and the future researchers. For the teachers their beliefs in implementing KTSP should be in line with BSNP. Besides they also should implement KTSP based on their beliefs. For the principals they should know the quality of their teachers. Besides they should control their teachers in implementing KTSP. The last for the future researchers who study about the implementation of KTSP they should make sure the principals allow them to conduct the observation in the class.
