The Teaching of English in the fifth grade at International laboratory primary school state University of Malang / Emi Faridah

Abstrak
Key Words Teaching of English International Standard Schools This study is interesting to describe the process of the teaching of English in the fifth grade at international laboratory primary school State University of Malang. It covers (1) what kinds of the teaching-learning activities in the classroom (2) how the teacher selected the materials (3) what kinds of instructional media are used by the teacher and (4) how is assessment applied by the teacher. From the findings the teaching techniques used by the teacher to conduct the teaching-learning activities in the classroom were listen and do question and answer in pair or group work brainstorming and modeling and demonstration. Next the materials used by the teacher are worksheet supported other sources namely electronic books (Timesavers Project Work Timesavers Vocabularies Activities and Timesavers Reading Lesson) and English articles. Meanwhile the teacher used ICT media such as LCD computer and internet to support her teaching. She also used visual media such as pictures real objects and power point slides. Finally this study also described how the teachers applied the assessments in the teaching of English.
