The Teaching of english at TK Laboratorium UM Malang / Ristia Yulianti Ahmad

Abstrak
English is the international language so if you want to be insightful and knowledgeable then the English language is something which is very important to be learnt. Many parents in Indonesia want their children to learn English language at early age. With the right method learning English will be fun.The design of this study is descriptive qualitative and the subject here is a teacher who has an educational background of English in Malang. This research aims to investigate the teaching of English at TK Laboratorium UM Malang. TK Laboratorium UM Malang is a private kindergarten under the auspices of the State University of Malang. There are three problems in this research (1) what techniques are used in the teaching English at TK Laboratorium UM (2) what materials are used at TK Laboratorium UM (3) what media are used in the teaching English at TK Laboratorium UM . Some of the techniques used by teachers in teaching English are songs exercises games listen and repeat listen and do and question- answer.The materials used by teachers are the development of SKM (Weekly Lesson Plan) as a guide for teachers to give lessons with themes that are already available in the SKM. Teaching process in class A Star is also supported by the using of media such as flashcards realia television set and toys and accessories. Being a teacher in kindergarten requires creativity innovation and being active in determining and creating techniques and media that are suitable for young learners so that learning English becomes fun for them.The data obtained can complement the findings in different aspects so readers can get more information about teaching and learning English in kindergartens.
