Abstrak
Keywords role-play the eighth graders speaking ability In Indonesia English is taught in all levels of education kindergarten elementary school junior high school senior high school and university levels. Having realized the significance of English the Indonesian government always makes efforts to improve the quality of English teaching. Developing the quality of teachers and other components of education will improve the English teaching quality. One of the improvements on English teaching is closely related to syllabus a component which is reflected in the materials and method given to the students. The right method results in better achievement therefore teachers have to make sure that their teaching methods are based on the goal of the lesson as stated in the related curriculum. Nowadays curriculum used by most school is Kurikulum Tingkat Satuan Pendidikan (KTSP) or School Level Based Curriculum. It has also been used at SKB (Sanggar Kegiatan Belajar) Kota Malang. SKB is one of government institution that offers non formal education
