Item analysis on a teacher-made try-out test of uan 2010/2011 of junior high schools in Malang / Diah Retno Widowati

Abstrak
Key words teacher-made test validity reliability item validity discrimination index item difficulty distracters This study is a descriptive study on a teacher-made try-out test of UAN of junior high schools in Malang. The study was intended to know the face validity content validity reliability the item validity discrimination index item difficulty and effectiveness of the distracters of the teacher-made try-out of UAN 2010/2011 of junior high school in Malang. The data collected and analysed in this study are in the forms of primary and secondary data. The primary data consist of the first try-out test for academic year 2010/2011 constructed by English teachers of junior high school in Malang and the students scores of the try-out test in a test administered by the researcher in a number of classes in three junior high schools in Malang. The secondary data include the result of the students questionnaires and teachers interviews. The validity of the test were analysed using a set of criteria to determine the validity of the test. The students test scores were analysed using an ITEMAN software to indicate the reliability the item validity discrimination index item difficulty the effectiveness of the distracters and of the test. Based on the research findings it was found that the teacher-made try-out test of UAN 2010/2011 of junior high schools in Malang has good face validity and content validity. The teacher-made try-out test of UAN 2010/2011 of junior high school in Malang is also good in terms of the reliability item validity discrimination index and item difficulty. However the research found out that the distracters of the items are not good
