The media used by the English teacher at SDN Sumbersari II Malang / Rika

Abstrak
Key words Media learning activities instructional objectives. Media are considered to be important to assist the instruction and facilitate the students achievement of instructional objectives. By using media the materials can be more understandable learning activities become more interesting and the teacher can use various methods in their instruction. Instructional media are also very beneficial in English Language Teaching. Based on the preliminary observation the students reactions to English language were enthusiastic especially when the teacher used media. They seemed to be interested in learning English. However English teacher seem still found out that had some problems in preparing the media and still has difficulties in selecting appropriate media especially for first class in the teaching process by using media effectively and efficiently. Looking at this situation this study is interested to describe the media used by the English teacher in teaching English at SDN Sumbersari II Malang. This study is a descriptive qualitative research. The objects of the study were the media used by the English teacher and the students. To get the data these kinds of instruments used were observation check list field notes interview guide and questionnaires. The findings reveal that the teacher applied several of media in teaching English they were white board text book LCD Projector audio visual media (speakers) flash cards and pictures. The result of this study showed that the media used by the English teacher in teaching of English at SDN Sumbersari II Malang is good in terms of teaching English use several media applied by the English teacher to encourage the students to be active in the class. This research was done in SDN Sumbersari II Malang find out at the English teaching and learning process especially the media used by the English teacher.
