Keywords Learning Cycle Appropriate Media Learning Process and Result Openwork Competency Teacher is the key to successful learning process and result in in-class learning activities. The teacher should be an ideal person that give good example and guidance in all of activities and scientific application for the students in the school. A teacher should have an accurate knowledge on his/her subject. He/she also should take appropriate action when problems occur in the learning process. Then a teacher must be professional in his/her job as educator. One of activities to enhance the professionalism of the teacher is Class Action Research (PTK Penelitian Tindakan Kelas) to solve the problems in learning process and when the result of study is not as expected as the expectation of the teacher. Based on observation conducted by researcher on the learning process to improve openwork competency in SMKN 5 Malang it known that the learning process and the result of study og openwork competency was not as expected by teacher. The students did not reach Minimal Accomplishment Criteria (Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal KKM). As specified by Competency Standard (SK) in syllabus the KKM is 7 78 and the students failed to achieve it. Based on the problem as a teacher the researcher try to implement learning cycle model to improve learning process and the result of study of openwork competency. The objective of the reserach is to descrive learning cycle model use appropariate media that is pictures media fragment media and final product media to improve the learning process and the result of study of openwork competency in SMKN 5 Malang Academic Year 2012 2013. This research use descriptive approach in which the researcher collected qualitative and quantitative data. The research is belong class action research (PTK) with as its subject the 2nd class 3rd semester students in SMKN 5 Malang. Data is gathered by (1) observation used to observe teacher and students activities during learning process (2) field notes use to complete unrecorded data in observation sheet (3) The result of practice tests to know the result of practice learning in the end of learning cycle (4) The result of written tests to know the result of theoretical learning process in the end of learning cycle. There are two kinds of data in the research qualitative and quantitative data. Qualitative data is analyzed by data analysis techniques consist of data reduction data presentation and inference. Quantitative data is analyzed by find its mean value and percentage. The results of achievement in cycle I are (1) the successful percentage of the student activities based on observation is 75 7% (2) the successful percentage of the learning management by teacher based on observation is 81 3% (3) the successful percentage of the result of practice tests of the students is 36 7% (4) the successful percentage of the the result of theoretical tests of the student is 63 3%. Those cylce I data is not as expected. The results of achievement in cycle II are (1) the successful percentage of the student activities based on observation is 87 5% (2) the successful percentage of the learning management by teacher based on observation is 92 4% (3) the successful percentage of the result of practice tests of the students is 70% (4) the successful percentage of the the result of theoretical tests of the student is 80%. There is an improvement in the cycle II compared with the cycle I but it is not enough. The results of achievement in cycle III as the final cycle are (1) the successful percentage of the student activities based on observation is 93% (2) the successful percentage of the learning management by teacher based on observation is 95 4% (3) the successful percentage of the result of practice tests of the students is 90% (4) the successful percentage of the the result of theoretical tests of the student is 100%. Those result showed that there is improvement in learning cycle III and its result better than the results in cycle I and II. However the teacher should develop learning model to improve the learning process to achieve better results in the near future. Based on the results of the research it is concluded that The Implementation of Cyclic Learning Model Use Appropriate Media to Improve Learning Process and Result of Openwork Competency in SMKN 5 Malang is succeeded in improving learning process and the result of study of 2nd 3rd semester students academic year 2012-2013.
