Wahdati Ajeng Puput. 2013. The Utilization of Domino Card Media to Improve the Activity and Learning Result of Social Science of Student in the 5th Grade SDN Gongseng I Megaluh jombang. Mini Thesis Study Program of Elementary School Teacher Education Department of Elementary and Pre School Education Faculty of Education State University of Malang. Supervisors (1) Dra. Hj. Murtiningsih M.Pd (2) Drs. H. Sutarno M.Pd. Keywords Social Science learning domino card media activity and learning result The utilization of domino card media has not yet been used by the teacher in the Social Science learning in the 5th grade SDN Gongseng I Megaluh Jombang. Beside that the utilization of domino card media can be made as variation in answering the question thus it will not only answering the question from LKS (Student Worksheet / Lembar Kerja Siswa). Domino card also suitable with characteristic of the student in the 5th grade that still thinking of concrete operasional with learning using true media that is a card. The aim of this research are (1) describing the utilization of domino card media in the preparing material of Indonesian independence (2) describing student activity in the learning using domino card media and (3) describing student learning result using domino card media. This research using research type of classroom action research with qualitative descriptive approach. This research subject is student in the 5th grade SDN Gongseng I Megaluh Jombang. The research procedure are (1) Planning (2) Action implementation (3) Observation and (4) Reflection in every cycle. Instrument in this research are (1) test questions (2) observation sheet of learning implementation and (3) observation sheet of student activity. Research result shows that (1) the utilization domino card media in the preparing material of Indonesian independence is conducted in a very good way (2) student activity in this learning also very good and improving that shown with the improvement of student activity score average from cycle I with percentage 67.26% to the cycle II with percentage 85.26% and (3) student learning result is very good and improving from pre action cycle I and cycle II that are from class average score of pre action with the score 63.92 improving become 70.78 and in the cycle I and in the cycle II improving become 83.21. The conclusion of this research is the utilization of domino card media in the Social Science learning of 5th grade SDN Gongseng I Megaluh Jombang conducted in very good way. Research result shows that domino card media can be used in the Social Science learning of student in the 5th grade. Based on this research result suggested to use domino card media as one of alternative learning especially in the preparing material of Indonesian independence. But it needs consideration about well time management and class maintenance.
