The civics subject teaches moral included in the values of nation character. The study was aimed to describe the implementation of character education in the lesson plan of keeping the unity of Indonesian republic the learning source and media the learning model execution result assessment the students scores as well as the obstacles in the implementation of character education. The study was a case study qualitative approach and qualitative design. The data was collected from observation interview and documentation. 12288 12288 12288 12288 The result of the study shows that the implementation of character education in the civics learning through indicator development learning objectives and using the approach and method that can develop the nation character value. The learning sources were textbook and mass media the learning media was Microsoft Office PowerPoint. The learning model was cooperative learning contextual habituation and exemplary. Result assessment was obtained by observing the students behavior. The observed character values were environment care discipline religious reading-likeness love of country nation spirit tolerance honest responsible and independent. The obstacles was when teacher implanted the right character value in the civics learning. The discussion on the implementation of character education was teacher adapt the lesson plan by modifying the learning activity so that s/he able to develop character modify indicators and learning objectives adding assessment technique that can measure the character development of students. Besides the nation character values have been observed in the students was the result of good habituation by the teacher. 12288 12288 12288 12288 It is concluded that the implementation of character education in civics learning by modifying indicators learning objectives choosing approach method the use of learning sources and media and adding the result assessment. It is suggested that teacher give varied activities in learning use school environment as learning source use LCD for playing documentary movies about Indonesian heroes struggle use another cooperative learning model and reduce some observed aspects so that the result assessment can be maximally conducted.
