Abstrak
The Application of The Six Thinking Hats Method to Increase Students Activity And Result of Social Studies The Appearance of Natural and Artificial Nature Grade V SDN Ngijo I Karangploso Malang. By Rina Wijayanti 12288 12288 12288 12288 12288 12288 12288 12288 This research is motivated by the lack of ability to understand the appearance of natural and artificial materials for fifth grade students of SDN Ngijo I. The ability to understand social studies materials related to the scope of the discussion the object being studied and the method or approach to learning. The problem that arises in the study of social science is the learning process that is focused in the teacher not centered on students. Learning is more memoriable or factual knowledge it makes the learning is not appropriate with the purpose of the National Education. The purpose among others of this study is to describe (a) the use of the six thinking hats method to improve student learning outcomes towards the appearance of natural and artificial (b) students involvement in the learning activity using the six thinking hats method. 12288 12288 12288 12288 This research uses a CAR (Classroom Action Research) that includes two cycles. The flow of each cycle includes (1) planning (2) action (3) observation (4) reflection. The subject of research is the grade V SDN Ngijo I that consist to 30 students. The focus of research is the improvement of student learning outcomes and the ability to use the six thinking hats method. Data collection technique used observations interviews field notes and documentation. The research instrument is non test observation tests participation charts cards questioning observation sheet observation sheets of the evaluation of learning outcomes and teacher observation sheet activities. The data were analyzed qualitatively. 12288 12288 12288 12288 The results showed six thinking hats method is able to implement the learning units and lessons for students. Evidently there implementation of six thinking hats method can make the students as an expert thinker by using students brain for thinking with the result of that students will be trained to use his brain optimally improve the quality thinking of students so that the final results can find something creative. In its application this method very plays an active role in student learning outcomes improving and activities on the subject on sub the appearance of natural and artificial nature because his thinking activities teacher implementing the activities of the mental manipulation of students to acquire knowledge. The success of students in achieving good or excellent scores on the results showed by students in completing all of the questions in the learning process of each hat and evaluation questions in the end of the study indicates that students have gained the experience to think more deeply to find solutions solve the problems with new findings over the learning material. 12288 12288 12288 12288 The conclusions of the research that has been done is that the six thinking hats method has orientation on learning process that leads by doing and in its implementation shows this method is appropriate to be implemented in the learning units and lessons for students of grade V SDN Ngijo I in social science subjects especially on sub subjects the appearance of natural and artificial nature. That was shown indicated by an average score of student evaluation from pre-action cycle I to cycle II with a increasing score of 12.33 as value as 19.78%. Suggestion submitted to teachers and other researchers amongst (1) the teacher should try to apply the six thinking hats method in order to improve the activities and results of the social study (2) other researchers suggested to obtain deep understanding of activity on each hat and applied to sub of the other lessons or even on other subjects to further engage students to think creatively. 12288 12288 12288 12288
