It was focused on the steps that the teachers used in teaching speaking the activities that the teachers used in teaching speaking and the obstacles that teachers found in teaching speaking. 12288 12288 12288 This study used descriptive research design. It was conducted in SMP International Laboratorium Universitas Negeri Malang which located at Jl. Simpang Bogor 19 Malang. There were three English teachers in this school and two of them were selected as the subject of this study. To collect the data this study used two instruments interview guide and observation sheet. The data were collected on March 2014. 12288 12288 12288 12288 It was found that to develop students speaking skill the English teachers of SMP International Laboratorium Universitas Negeri Malang devided the English class into two regular class and English intensive class. Regular class was the morning class. The teachers focused on teaching four skills (listening speaking reading writing). The teaching strategies that teachers used was using workbook and integrated speaking with others skills. English intensive class was an additional class for English subject it was existed in the afternoon. The teachers focused on teaching speaking skill in the class. The teachers used various teaching strategies in this class. There were five strategies implemented by the teachers in English intensive class making report role-play description presentation and inviting native speakers. 12288 12288 12288 12288 Using interesting strategies in teaching speaking avoid the students feel bored in the teaching and learning process. The students could enjoy the teaching and learning process. There were some obstacles that teachers find in regular class when teaching speaking skill because the strategies that teachers use in teaching make the students bored. In the English intensive class there were no obstacles find by the teachers because they use interesting strategies. The students could enjoy in learning process when the situation created by the teachers was enjoyable for them. 12288 12288 12288 12288 Based on the result of the study it was suggested that the teachers should have an interesting way in teaching speaking skill in both classes.
