ABSTRACT Musthofa M. Arif. 2014. Study of Oxygen Maximum Capacity Rate (VO2 Max) at the Pencak Silat Student Extracurricular Participants PSHT SMA / SMK Se-Blitar. Thesis Department of Sport Science Faculty of Sport Science University of Malang. Advisor (I) Drs. Mardianto Kes. (II) Drs. Mulyani Surendra M.S. Keywords VO2 Max Pencak Silat. In martial arts a fighter in addition to mature in mastering the techniques of offense and defense must understand the tactics and strategies can read the opponent s strengths and weaknesses but also must have good cardiovascular endurance because it influences the appearance of a martial arts athlete. Cardiovascular endurance also called aerobic endurance is often associated with VO2 max or maximal oxygen maksimal.Volume oxygen consumption (VO2 max) is one of the most common indicators of measurement that use in exercise physiology laboratory. Generally accepted as the best measure of the functional limits of the cardiovascular system and is generally defined as an index of cardiorespiratory fitness. The purpose of this study was to determine the extent of maximal oxygen capacity (VO2 max) martial arts student extracurricular participants PSHT SMA / SMK se-Blitar and obtain an evaluation of the results of that exercise has been carried out mainly in the aspect of physical endurance. The design of this research is descriptive quantitative. Data collected by the test method using multi-stage fitness test as the instruments used which will seek the average value and the value percentage to be described. The study involved 32 subjects with ages 16 and 17 years consisting of 17 male participants and 15 female participants. This study was conducted in June 2014 held at SMAN 2 SMAN 4 SMK 1 and N 2 Blitar. The results showed that the value of the average VO2 max in extracurricular participants PSHT male is 38.16 ml / kg / min while the female participants was 31.13 ml / kg / min. Standard deviation in extracurricular participants PSHT male is 5292 whereas the female participants 5005. VO2 max value of the lowest in extracurricular participants male PSHT 29.55 ml / kg / min while the women 29.55 ml / kg / min. The highest value of VO2 max in extracurricular participants male PSHT 46.80 ml / kg / min while the women 36.40 ml / kg / min. Need applied exercises that can stimulate an increase in VO2 max value given the important role of energy and oxygen to the formation of lactic acid into energy regeneration back. The author recommends the appropriate training is to implement a circuit training workout suitable to increase the capacity of VO2 max. Should be held maximal aerobic capacity test on a regular basis to monitor the progress of the results of the exercise.
