Guidance and Counseling Study Program Postgraduate Program of State University of Malang. Advisors (I) Prof. Dr. Fattah Hanurawan M.Si. M.Ed. (II) Dr. Muslihati S.Ag. M.Pd Keywords Anger management management of emotion aggression behavior. This study is based on the indication of aggression behavior of VIII grade students of SMP Lab UM. This study aims to investigate the influence of anger management techniques in group counseling on students aggression behavior. This research is an experimental research with quasi eksperiment pretest-posttest control group and experiment group. Moreover the subjects of this study were 14 students of SMP Lab UM who had high category on agression behavior. This study was conducted in 6 meetings. Furthermore there are two kind of instruments that is used in this research treatment material and data collection instrument. The instrument of treatment material consists of anger management technique guidance on group counseling and the data collection instrument with the scale of aggression behavior adapted from the Bus theory construct (1978). Based on statistical analysis of Independent Samples t-test The results showed that there was a reduction in the frequency of aggression behavior before during and after obtaining anger management techniques in group counseling. In conclusion based on the results of this study it is found that anger management technique has an influence on students aggression behavior. Therefore the results of this study provide some suggestions (1) It is suggested for the counselors to be able to utilize anger management techniques curative effort on students who tend to exhibit their aggression behavior. (2) It is also suggested for the future researchers who are interested in anger management topics to use different experimental designs from this study such as SSD or any others.
