ABSTRACT Kamahun Aminullah Is. 2017. Public Relations Management in Improving Educational image (multi-site studies at SMK Telkom Sandhy Putra and SMK Muhammadiyah 1 in Malang). Thesis. Keywords management of public relations school appearance Competition in education is inevitable. Many educational institutions are less popular because of their image especially in private schools. Therefore the role of waka humas is very important in establishing good relationships and communications to the community with good interaction will cause sympathy and interest of the public to private vocational schools. Through a program designed by Waka Humas at SMK Telkom Sandhy Putra and SMK Muhammadiyah 1 then implemented to the community so that will prove the ability of SMK Telkom Sandhy Putra and SMK Muhammadiyah 1 in educating and increasing the students skills. With the creation of inter-community harmony to the school it shows an improvement to the school image. This study aims to describe (a) Public relations program in improving the image of school in SMK Telkom Sandhy Putra and SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Malang (B) PR strategy in improving school image in SMK Telkom Sandhy Putra and SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Malang (C) Evaluation of public relations implementation in improving school image in SMK Telkom Sandhy Putra and SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Malang. This study used a qualitative approach with a multisitus study design study. With this research design researchers can observe carefully a program event and even activities undertaken by the object under study. In collecting data of researcher using in-depth interview technique participant observation and documentation study. Data were analyzed using in-site data analysis techniques and cross-site analysis. The results showed that (1) In public relations programs can be seen in the implementation of activities internally and externally. Public relations in both schools provides a good relationship to the community whether it is seen in school organizations and the wider community. The activities undertaken by the students show competence or skill of the students to attract people so that people respond well to the school (2) Marketing communication strategy is done directly or indirectly.Strategy directly by visiting junior high schools and organizing activities to introduce schools. And indirect strategies by using social media either in the form of facebook instagram twiter and via local TV. The school public relations install banner and also market through brochures And (3) Evaluation is done by school public relations through a meeting or meeting with the assessment of each activity that has been done. Both schools see the triviality of the program that has been run and find a solution to the next program can run well. Suggestions in this research are submitted to (1) For the Head of Education Office of East Java Province to always do coordination and intensive cooperation with vocational school so SMK schools strengthen their position to maintain the quality of service so as to improve school image. (2) Principals always provide insight and innovation from school work programs. With the existence of institutions that have a good reputation in education kca it will increase public interest. As a leader the principal must be able to become a communicator so that what he does can improve the school s image. (3) For public relations always conduct intensive socialization to the community so that people know the standard Services and quality of schools that can improve school image. And (4) For other researchers it is hoped to expand the knowledge of public relations schools in other studies at different levels or research in public schools.
