Kata Kunci sikap ilmiah kebebasan akademik etika akademik budaya akademik dan mahasiswa. Pendidikan merupakan hal yang penting bagi setiap manusia dan saat ini telah menjadi kebutuhan pokok karena semakin banyak masyarakat yang melanjutkan pendidikan hingga tingkat universitas. Setiap universitas haruslah diiringi dengan adanya mahasiswa yang unggul terampil cakap kritis dan bersikap ilmiah terhadap peristiwa yang terjadi disekitarnya. Sikap ilmiah harus selalu dibiasakan dan digunakan oleh sivitas akademika agar menjadi suatu budaya yang dalam hal ini berkaitan erat dengan budaya akademik. Selain sikap ilmiah diperlukan juga kebebasan akademik dan etika akademik di dalam universitas. Kebebasan akademik adalah suatu hak bagi setiap anggota sivitas akademik namun keberadaanya perlu disertai dengan etika akademik untuk mengatur penyelenggaraan kegiatan akademik di kampus. Mahasiswa UM sebagai anggota sivitas akademika harus mampu mengembangkan dan mengimplementasikan budaya akademik di PT karena peran mahasiswa sangat diperlukan dalam upaya menimbulkan kebiasaan untuk melakukan norma-norma kegiatan akademik. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan untuk (1) mengetahui hubungan langsung antara sikap ilmiah dengan budaya akademik mahasiswa program S1 Universitas Negeri Malang (UM) (2) mengetahui hubungan langsung antara kebebasan akademik dengan budaya akademik mahasiswa program S1 UM dan (3) mengetahui hubungan langsung antara etika akademik dengan budaya akademik mahasiswa program S1 UM (4) mengetahui hubungan langsung antara sikap ilmiah dengan kebebasan akademik mahasiswa program S1 UM (5) mengetahui hubungan langsung antara sikap ilmiah dengan etika akademik mahasiswa program S1 UM (6) mengetahui hubungan langsung antara kebebasan akademik dengan etika akademik mahasiswa program S1 UM (7) mengetahui hubungan tidak langsung antara sikap ilmiah melalui etika akademik terhadap budaya akademik mahasiswa program S1 UM (8) mengetahui hubungan tidak langsung antara kebebasan akademik melalui etika akademik terhadap budaya akademik mahasiswa program S1 UM. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan teknik analisis jalur (path analysis). Populasi penelitian ini yaitu 6.027 mahasiswa S1 UM angkatan 2014 dari jumlah tersebut kemudian diambil sampel sebesar 375 mahasiswa. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kesioner/angket. Analisis yang digunakan dengan membuat deskripsi data melakukan uji prasyarat melakukan uji hipotesis menentukan korelasi antar variabel dengan rumus Product Moment Pearson dan menentukan analisis jalur (path analysis). Hasil analisis data yaitu (1) hubungan langsung variabel X1 dengan Y sebesar 0 166 (2) hubungan langsung variabel X2 dengan Y sebesar 0 169 (3) hubungan langsung variabel X3 dengan Y sebesar 0 560 (4) hubungan langsung variabel X1 dengan X2 sebesar 0 722 (5) hubungan langsung variabel X1 dengan X3 sebesar 0 329 (6) hubungan langsung variabel X2 dengan X3 sebesar 0 499 (7) hubungan langsung variabel X1 dengan Y melalui X3 sebesar 0 350 (8) hubungan langsung variabel X2 dengan Y melalui X3 sebesar 0 448. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh yaitu (1) hubungan langsung sikap ilmiah dengan budaya akademik pada mahasiswa UM cukup kuat (2) hubungan langsung kebebasan akademik dan budaya akademik pada mahasiswa UM cukup kuat (3) hubungan langsung etika akademik dengan budaya akademik pada mahasiswa UM kuat (4) hubungan langsung sikap ilmiah dengan kebebasan akademik pada mahasiswa UM kuat (5) hubungan langsung antara sikap ilmiah dan etika akademik pada mahasiswa UM kuat (6) hubungan langsung kebebasan akademik dengan etika akademik pada mahasiswa UM kuat (7) hubungan tidak langsung variabel sikap ilmiah dengan budaya akademik melalui etika akademik pada mahasiswa UM kuat (8) hubungan tidak langsung variabel kebebasan akademik dengan budaya akademik melalui etika akademik pada mahasiswa UM kuat . Saran yang disampaikan kepada (1) Rektor UM disarankan mengadakan pembinaan mental mahasiswa untuk meningkatkan rasa percaya dirinya mengadakan pelatihan serta mewajibkan mahasiswa menghasilkan karya penelitian setiap periode tertentu dan mensosialisasikan pada dosen untuk mengadakan kuis materi yang telah diterangkan minggu sebelumnya sehingga mahasiswa terpacu untuk belajar (2) Dekan Fakultas disarankan untuk membuat kebijakan tentang penerapan sikap ilmiah kebebasan akademik dan etika akademik kepada seluruh sivitas akademikanya supaya budaya akademik di UM meningkat (3) Ketua Jurusan disarankan untuk memfasilitasi mahasiswa dalam berbagai kegiatan akademik agar penerapan sikap ilmiah kebebasan akademik dan etika akademik meningkat sehingga budaya akademik UM juga meningkat (4) akademisi agar budaya akademik meningkat disarankan untuk melibatkan mahasiswa dalam pelaksanaan Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi yakni kegiatan pendidikan penelitian dan pengabdian masyarakat sehingga sikap ilmiah kebebasan akademik dan etika akademiknya juga meningkat (5) mahasiswa UM disarankan untuk meningkatkan sikap ilmiahnya memanfaatkan semaksimal mungkin kebebasan akademiknya dan menjaga etika akademiknya agar budaya akademik UM meningkat dan (6) peneliti lain disarankan untuk meneliti variabel lain yang mempunyai hubungan dengan budaya akademik seperti kebijakan universitas fasilitas kampus dan perilaku dosen. Disarankan juga untuk meneliti tentang sikap ilmiah kebebasan akademik etika akademik dan budaya akademik dengan menggunakan pendekatan lain seperti pendekatan kualitatif dengan judul Budaya Akademik Mahasiswa (Studi Multi Situs di UM dan UIN) pendekatan Kuantitatif dengan judul Perbedaan Budaya Akademik Mahasiswa di UM dan UIN dan pendekatan pengembangan dengan judul Peningkatan Budaya Akademik Mahasiswa melalui Pemberian Pelatihan Sikap Ilmiah Kebebasan Akademik dan Etika Akademik . Education is an important thing for every human being and now it has become a basic necessity as more and more people are continuing their education to university level. Each university must be equipped by students who are qualified skilled capable critical and be scientific to any events occur around them. Scientific attitude should always be applied and used by the academic community in order to become a habit which is closely related to academic culture. Beside scientific attitude academic and academic freedom are also required within the university. Academic freedom is a right for every member of the academic community but its existence needs to be accompanied by academic ethics to organize academic activities on campus. UM students as members of the academic community should be able to develop and implement academic culture in the university because the role of students is necessary in the effort of making the habit to perform the norms of academic activities. The need for academic culture is due to the increasingly advanced demands of the era so that required changes and renewal in life and academic activities to a better condition. This research was conducted with the aims of (1) to know the direct correlation between the scientific attitude with the academic culture of undergraduate students of Malang State University (UM) (2) to know the direct correlation between academic freedom and academic culture of UM undergraduate students (3) to know the direct correlation between academic ethics and academic culture of UM undergraduate students (4) to know the direct correlation between scientific attitude and academic freedom of UM undergraduate students (5) to know the direct correlation between the scientific attitude with the academic ethics of UM undergraduate students (6) to know the direct correlation between academic freedom and academic ethics of UM undergraduate students (7) to know the indirect correlation between scientific attitude through academic ethics to academic culture of UM undergraduate students (8) to know the indirect correlation between academic freedom through academic ethics to academic culture of UM undergraduate students. This research used quantitative method with path analysis technique. The population of this study was 6 027 students of undergraduate batch 2014 and the sample taken was 375 students. The instrument used in this research was a questioner/questionnaire. The analysis used by making data descriptions conducting prerequisite test perform a test of the hypothesis determining correlation between variables with Product Moment Pearson formula and determining path analysis. The results of the data analysis were (1) direct correlation of variable X1 with Y equal of 0.166 (2) direct correlation variable X2 with Y equal of 0.169 (3) direct correlation of variable X3 with Y equal of 0.560 (4) direct correlation of variable X1 with X2 equal of 0.722 (5) direct correlation of variable X1 with X3 equal of 0.329 (6) direct correlation of variable X2 with X3 equal of 0.499 (7) direct correlation of variable X1 with Y through X3 equal of 0.350 (8) direct correlation of variable X2 with Y through X3 equal of 0.448. The conclusions obtained were (1) direct correlation scientific attitude with academic culture in the Students of UM strong enough (2) direct correlation academic freedom with academic culture in the Students of UM strong enough (3) direct correlation academic culture with academic ethics in the Students of UM strong (4) direct correlation scientific attitude with academic freedom in the Students of UM strong (5) direct correlation scientific with academic ethics attitude in the Students of UM strong (6) direct correlation academic freedom with academic ethics in the Students of UM strong (7) indirect correlation of variable scientific attitude with academic culture through academic ethics in the Students of UM strong (8) indirect correlation of variable academic freedom with academic culture through academic ethics in the Students of UM strong . Suggestions submitted to (1) Rector of UM it is suggested to holding the mental coaching students to increase the confidence of himself conduct training and requires that students produce research papers per given period and socialize on professors to hold a quiz material that has explained the previous week so students are encouraged to learn (2) Dean of the faculty it is advisable to create a policy on the application of the scientific attitude academic freedom academic ethics and to all that civitas academic so that UM academic culture will be increase (3) Chairman of the Department it is recommended to facilitate students in various academic activities so that the application of the scientific attitude academic freedom and academic ethics will be increase so that UM academic culture also increased (4) academic in order to increase academic culture it is advisable to involve students in the implementation of the Tridharma Colleges namely educational activities research and public service so that the scientific attitude academic freedom and academic ethics also increased (3) the student of UM it is recommended to enhance the scientific attitude utilizing its fullest academic freedom and keeping academic ethics so UM academic culture on the rise and (4) other researchers it is advisable to examine other variables that have a correlation with the academic culture such as University policy campus facilities and the behavior of the lecturer. It is recommended also for researching on scientific attitude academic freedom academic ethics and academic cultures by using other approaches such as the qualitative approach with the title Cultural Academic Student (Study of Multi site on UM and UIN) quantitative approach with the title Differences Cultural of Academic Students at UM and UIN and approach the development under the title Improved Student Academic Culture through The Granting of Scientific Attitude Training Academic Freedom and Academic Ethics .
