Salah satujenisteksdalamkurikulum 2013 yaitutekslaporanhasilobservasi. Teksinimerupakansubbabdalammaterikelas VII SMP/MTs dankelas X SMA/MA di semester ganjil. Kemunculannyapadaduajenjangpendidikan yang berbedainimembuktikanbahwatekslaporanhasilobservasipentinguntukdikuasai. Penelitianinibertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dua fokus penelitian. Pertama karakteristik struktur teks laporan hasil observasi yang meliputi pernyataan umum deskripsi dan penutup/kesimpulan. Kedua ciri bahasa teks laporan hasil observasi yang meliputi kata konkret istilah teknis kalimat definisi kalimat klasifikasi dan kalimat deskripsi. Penelitian inimenggunakanpendekatankualitatif-deskriptif. Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Batu dipilih sebagai lokasi penelitian. Lokasi dipilih karena MAN Batu menjadi salah satu madrasah yang sudah menerapkan kurikulum 2013 dalam pembelajaran. Data penelitian ini berupa struktur dan bahasa teks laporan hasil observasi karya siswa kelas X IPA MAN Batu. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah teks laporan hasil observasi karya siswa kelas X IPA MAN Batu tahun ajaran 2016/2017. Instrumen yang digunakan terdiri atas instrumen kunci dan pelengkap. Peneliti menjadi instrumenkuncipenelitianini. Instrumen pelengkap berupa tes pedoman kodifikasi data dan pedoman analisis data. Data dianalisis dengan prosedur(1) reduksi data (2) penyajian data dan (3)penarikan kesimpulan.Tahapan penelitian yang dilakukan meliputi tahap persiapan pelaksanaan dan penyelesaian.Dalammenentukankeabsahantemuan penelitimelakukandiskusidengandosenpembimbingdantemansejawat. Analisis karakteristik teks laporan hasil observasi karya siswa kelas X IPA menghasilkan dua kesimpulan. Pertama struktur teks laporan hasil observasi meliputi pernyataan umum deskripsi dan kesimpulan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ditemukan variasi penulisanpernyataanumumberupa (1) definisi (2) pengantar/penjelasan umum (3) penunjuktopik dan (4)penunjuk topik klasifikasi. Pada bagian deskripsi terdapat dua variasi penulisan yaitu (1) berdasarkan klasifikasi dan (2) berdasarkan fungsi. Pada bagian kesimpulan teks laporan hasil observasi yang bersifat optional terdapat dua variasi penulisan yaitu (1) paparan manfaat dan (2) pengulangan informasi penting. Kedua dilihat dari ciri bahasa teks laporan hasil observasi terdapat lima kesimpulan meliputi(1) kata konkretmerujukobjek yang diindra (2) istilahteknismemuat kata dalambidangtertentu (3) kalimatdefinisibercirimenjelaskanpengertiandarisuatuhal (4) kalimatklasifikasibercirimengelompokkansuatuhalberdasarkankriteriatertentu dan (5) kalimatdeskripsibercirimemaparkansuatuobjekberdasarkanfaktasehinggaobjektersebutseolah-olahberada di depanmata Kesimpulanakhir penelitian ini menghasilkan dua saran. Kepada guru matapelajarandisarankanuntukmemberikanpenjelasanlebihdalammengenaipenggunaankalimatdefinisidankalimatdeskripsi yang baik dan benar.Kepada penelitiselanjutnya disarankanuntukmelakukanpenelitianpadaaspek lain yang terkaitdengantekslaporanhasilobservasi. Keywords report text structure language Language is substansial in the learning process. Nowdays curricullum 2013based texts type. Which one one of the text type are information reporttext. Information report text is ansub-material at VII grade SMP/MTs and X grade SMA/MA. It proves thatappearence information report text at two defferent levels of education must be mastery. This study aimed to describe two research focus. First the structural characteristics of information report text that includes general statements descriptions and conclusion. Second language of information report text include is a concrete word technical term phrase definitions classifications sentence and description feature. This study used a qualitative descriptive research approach. Madrasah Aliyah NegeriBatu selected as the study site. The location has chosen because MAN Batu become on of the madrasah who had applied Curriculum 2013 in learning process.Data this study of the structure and language of informationreport text writen by students of XScienceMAN Batu. The data source of this research isinformation report text writen bystudents of class X Science MAN Batu academic year 2016/2017. Researchers become a key instrument of this research. While the complementary instruments in the form of student worksheets codification guidelines and data analysis guidelines. Data were analyzed by the procedure (1) data reduction (2) data presentment and (3) the withdrawal of conclusion.Procedure research conducted covering the preparation implementation and completion. In determining the validity of the findings of researchers held discussions with the supervisor and peers. Analysis of the characteristics of information report text writen by students of class X Science produces two conclusions. First starting from the structural characteristics ofinformation report text are general statement. Based on the results founded characteristics varian general statement are (1) the definition (2) the introductory/general explanation (3) bookmark topics and (4) the bookmark topics classification. In the description there are two characteristics (1) based classification and (2) based function. At the conclusion of the report text is optional on the observation that there are three characteristics namely (1) exposure benefitsand (2) repetition of important informations. Second the language of information report text there are five conclusions after exposure and discussion. (1) concrete words is the object can be referrent (2) technical terms containing the word in a particular field (3) phrase definitions is describes the meaning of things (4) classificationsentence is classify a thing based on certain criteria and (5) desctiption feature is describes based on facts. The final conclusion of this study produced two suggestions. For subject teachers are advised to provide in-depth explanation of the use of the phrase definitions and words of description fits the purpose and objective. For report further research it is advisable to do some research on other aspects related to the information report text
