ABSTRAK Maulida Erisa Tria. 2018. Pembuatan Busana Avant Garde dengan Fabric Manipulation Technique Lipit Jarum. Tugas Akhir Jurusan Teknologi Industri Fakultas Teknik Universitas Negeri Malang. Pembimbing (1) Dra. Nurul Aini M.Pd Kata Kunci Avant Garde Fabric Manipulation Technique Lipit Jarum Tujuan dalam pembuatan busana avant garde ini adalah sebagai penuangan kreativitas dan inovasi sekaligus menambah referensi dan pengetahuan tentang pembuatan busana avant garde dengan fabric manipulation technique lipit jarum. Busana avant garde ini terinspirasi dari rumah seribu kaki (mod aki/igkojei) yang di padu padankan dengan gaya eksotis. Penulis membuat inovasi baru dengan membuat fabric manipulation yang terinspirasi dari atap rumah seribu (mod aki/igkojei). Busana avant garde ini menggunakan bahan utama suede fiesta dan kain ateja busana ini terdiri dari satu bagian (onepiece) yaitu midi dress pas badan bentuk span tanpa lengan kerung leher bulat tanpa kerah dan ditambah dengan pelengkap busana hiasan pinggang yang terbuat dari rotan dan dililit dengan benang rajut katun. Kesimpulan dalam pembuatan busana avant garde ini adalah Penulis menciptakan busana avant garde dengan fabric manipulation technique lipit jarum busana avant garde ini terinspirasi dari rumah seribu kaki (mod aksa/igkojei) suku Arfak Papua Barat. Busana avant garde ini terdiri dari satu bagian (onepiece) yaitu midi dress serta menggunakan pelengkap busana pada hiasan pinggang dan hiasan leher busana avant garde ini menggunakan creative fabric fabric manipulation lipit jarum bahan yang digunakan pada busana avant garde ini adalah kain suede fiesta kain ateja sebagai bahan utama hiasan leher dan hiasan pinggang yang terbuat dari rotan dan dililit dengan benang rajut katun. Pada proses pembuatan fabric manipulation technique ukuran tidak sama sehingga bentuk lipit tidak konsisten pada proses pelilitan benang rajut tidak rapi karena menggunakan teknik yang salah. Saran dalam pembuatan busana avantgarde ini adalah seharusnya pada proses pembuatan fabric manipulation lipit jarum harus menggunakan ketelitian agar hasil dari fabric manipulation lipit jarum sesuai dengan bentuk badan peragawati dan antar lipit jarum konsisten ukurannya. Seharusnya pada proses pelilitan benang rajut pada hiasan rotan antar ring kecil dan bagian rongga rotan di seimbangkan posisinya dengan mengikat setiap bagian sisi ring rotan pada bagian rongga rotan dan pada proses lilitan disarankan menggunakan double tip terlebih dahulu agar benang rajut tidak mudah susut saat dililit dan terlihat rapi.
